POP star Justin Bieber has been banned from performing in China.

Beijing's Culture Bureau said the Canadian's "controversial" behaviour means he is not welcome to visit or tour the country.

It said: "It is not suitable to bring in badly behaved entertainers.

"We hope that as Justin Bieber matures, he can continue to improve his own words and actions, and truly become a singer beloved by the public."

Bieber, 23, visited the country in 2013 and sparked controversy by skateboarding and being carried along the Great Wall of China.

He has been arrested in the US for drink- driving and vandalism.
